Rogue Traders

Alert message sent 22/06/2017 09:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Dear Residents

On 15th and 16th June it was reported that elderly citizens in the Wollaton area have been charged approximately £180 by rogue traders to do minor roofing works.  It was reported that the work was of poor quality and not worth the amount charged.  Nottingham City Trading Standards are now investigating this matter.

It is quite possible that the same traders will target other people in Wollaton or elsewhere in Nottingham. We are urging you to share this message and help spread the word. If you have elderly parents or neighbours, please take a moment to explain the dangers of rogue traders and the subsequent financial impact it can have. Please remain vigilant yourselves and look out for people who may be vulnerable; we don't want anymore people falling victim to these rogue traders.  Please consider using ‘' for vetted and monitored tradespeople.

If you need any more information please do not hesitate to contact Trading Standards.
