Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Good Morning Residents,

It has been a busy time for your Broxtowe South Neighbourhood Policing Team recently.

We are currently experiencing a number of theft from motor vehicles across our area. These include the vehicle being entered and items stolen from within and theft of number plates. Can we remind our residents to remove ALL items from your vehicle including loose change from the dashboard. You can purchase anti-theftscrews that ensure your number plates cannot be taken. (check your car warranty before using these items)

We have also had a couple of house burglaries and a few shed/garage breaks. In some cases items including tools have been stolen.

We would remind you that when shopping to ensure you keep you purse safe and handbags zipped closed. Gentleman please make sure your wallets are also in pockets which cannot be accessed by bumping into you. Do not leave handbags etc alone even for a few seconds. If shopping make sure you are carrying them and please do not leave handbags and wallets in your vehicles at any time.

Cycle theft is still ongoing and again we remind everyone where possible to use the 'D lock' style lock. It may be heavier to carry around but it may well save you from being a victim of cycle theft.

Please check the identity of persons attending your home univited. Any genuine tradesperson/visitor wlll not mind whilst you are checking their details. Please do not just assume they are who they say they are......check them out to keep them out!! Please also keep an eye out for vulnerable neighbours who may become targets.
