Rural Crime

Alert message sent 02/03/2017 22:11:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Harworth Police Officers have again struck this time during the day.
2 offenders were yesterday located on land, trespassing with equipment in the search of game or rabbits.
Whilst this type of offending is on the decrease, possibly as a result of the level of Police activity against those that offend on East Bassetlaw.
The offenders were on land with weapons and dogs. Weapons and equipment were seized and the offenders were reported for summons to court to answer as to their actions.
A application will be made to the magistrates for the forfeiture of the weapons and other items.
East Bassetlaw Police take these matters seriously as the farmers and landowners in the area Policed are in regular contact with Police over the issues of Rural Crime.
As a result farmers and landowners in the area regularly work alongside Police on Operation BIFOCAL and support Police by prompting officers to the locations of offenders which often allows for a swift and positive outcome.
Further dates are set for the future for officers to work operation Bifocal and further prosecutions are anticipated.

Harworth Police Station.
